Cruise ship, murder me
Today, I'm on a cruise ship, and will be for the next 5 days . Some might see this as a lovely. But for me, it is a nightmare floating for a week. A nightmare which I am bound to live, as a wall of infinite sea surround me. As much as I want, there is no escape.
They even took my fucking passport.
And in the unbearable condition of my inability to escape this, I can but only write.
Sculptures and walls of no artist, photos of soulless smiles, floor and ceiling wishing us to be mad. How much uglier could you be . Awful designs, you reminding of your absence in authenticity. As I observe, I become my own turtle, I look around at this aquarium decorated with plastic trees. This ship isn't just Kitsch , it is the very theft of my individuality.
Such a big vessel, hallmark of human technology , and yet I could not feel more cramped. More size never meant more space, but more people at a constant density. Small or big, cruising ships sail their industry. Marketed as bigger, greater , heavier! More crew and more pools! But what do they mean when absolutely useless numbers they are, in contrast to the sights of a claustrophobic corridor.
Bells and whistles: go left , go right, come eat at this time, come back at that time. Don't be late, don't be early. Don't forget to listen to the announcement that scream in your room! Don't forget your identity badge! And as a reaction, thousands of people crammed into a wave, oscillate back and forth, not because of the sea, but a hive mind powered by food and entertainment.
The first instinct is to think "Am I cattle?". And to closer inspection, yes : my milk is my money.
In excursions, we look like chickens that are let out for the day. We rush like pigs, to peck on the ground just to poop shit. Shit made of usd.
But some of this misery can be attributed to the very mass that's feeding it .
But who am I to critic the taste of others. But because this is no taste, it is delusion.
